Course will not meet on November 24th. Create paintings that have the texture and richness of a Van Gogh, the colors of Wolf Kahn and your individual style. This is a class meant to develop your own distinctive look. Visual elements like color and composition will be discussed. Students will be encouraged to explore personal choices in subject manner, themes, and styles, as they work at their own level, with lots of instructor input. We will be working both inside and out, weather permitting. Stretch your sense of form, color content and the image-making process while working in any media of your choice.

Course will not meet on November 24th This course offers beginners interested in establishing their drawing or painting skills a relaxed atmosphere in which to grow. It will also encourage someone looking to sharpen existing skills. Basic media and techniques will be reviewed; beginning with the still life and gradually moving toward the figure. A variety of media will be used and explored.

Making Manga (Ages: 13-17)

Course will not meet on November 24th. Spend time developing your anime creations into a more finished piece of art. Students will learn perspective, motion, foreshortening, composition, use of color, and figure proportions. A strong emphasis will be placed on creating a totally unique character based on the student’s own ideas. Take your creations from simple marker drawings to elaborate finished works of art. The school will supply all materials.

Science fiction and fantasy art has a long distinguished history and the future for this work is immense. We will create fantasy worlds while learning composition, perspective, use of color, foreshortening, action, etc. Take your creations from simple marker drawings to elaborate finished works of art. The school will provide all materials.
